About the peanut butter
What's actually in it?
Unsweetened is one ingredient: slow-roasted Desi peanuts. Jaggery adds jaggery. Dark Chocolate adds real cacao and jaggery. Coconut adds coconut and jaggery. That's the whole list — no palm oil, no preservatives, no artificial anything.
Is there sugar in it?
Unsweetened has no added sugar at all. Jaggery, Dark Chocolate and Coconut are sweetened only with jaggery — no refined or white sugar.
Do you use palm oil?
No. Never have.
Is it made with real chocolate?
Real cacao, not chocolate compound. There's a difference, and you can taste it.
Creamy or crunchy — which should I get?
Creamy spreads easily and blends into smoothies and sauces. Crunchy has bits of peanut through it, which is better on toast and off the spoon. Most people have a strong opinion; try one of each if you don't yet.
Is it vegan and gluten-free?
Yes. All variants are vegan, gluten-free and non-GMO.
Does it contain nuts other than peanuts?
The peanut butters are peanuts only (plus jaggery or cacao where listed). Our Date Bites and Party Mix do contain other nuts — check the pack if you have an allergy.
Using and storing it
Why is there oil on top of the jar?
That's natural oil separation, and it's a good sign — it means there are no stabilisers holding it together. Give it a firm stir before the first use and it won't separate as much afterwards.
How should I store it?
A cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Refrigeration is optional — it slows separation but makes the butter firmer and harder to spread.
How long does it last?
Check the best-before date printed on the jar. Once opened, finish it within a couple of months — though in our experience that's rarely a problem.
Do I need to refrigerate it after opening?
Not necessary. If your kitchen runs hot, the fridge helps.

Orders are dispatched from our unit in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh. Delivery time depends on where you are — you'll get tracking details by email and SMS once it ships.

Where is Nutty Village made?
In Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, in small batches — by women's self-help groups, using Desi peanuts grown near the Ganga.
What are Desi peanuts?
Native Indian peanut varieties, smaller and more flavourful than the commodity peanuts most large brands use. They cost more and taste better.
Who makes it?
Women from self-help groups near Unnao, alongside smallholder farmers who grow the peanuts. Fair pay, dignified work, same village. More about that here.
